Parlanchín
What is Parlanchín?
An organization which builds applications for learning and teaching foreign languages. It is also a local community for anyone with an interest in edtech more broadly. We hold monthly meetups to discuss education and technology and organize other events around this theme.
The Workshop
Parlanchín is the umbrella under which I develop my more "serious" projects related to language learning and education. There are plans to turn this into a workshop where tech and non-tech people can design and build their ideas. Idiom
Idiom is a platform designed for language learners to turn vocabulary and texts into interactive exercises. I started it back when I was just learning how to build for the web, and it has grown a lot since then.
Palabrisa
Palabrisa is a Python API powered by NLP libraries like NLTK and SpaCy as well as AI. It processes language input and helps client apps generate dynamic language learning exercises e.g. open-cloze, text reordering, and more! It can also provide valuable insights, such as definitions, word classes, and synonyms, making it a powerful tool for learners and educators alike.
Zest
Zest is tool language teachers can use to give feedback on a student's writing and create targeted exercises around their mistakes and weaknesses. Currently in MVP.
Parlanchín Community
Parlanchín Community is a meetup for people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds with an interest in edtech. Follow us on Luma.
